Oral Yeast Infection
Cure
The signs of an oral yeast infection can be a hard coat on the
tongue, which may also exhibit staining. The edges of the lips
may be broken or cracked, this is called angular cheilitis. The
most common immediate action is to administer extra vitamins
and acidophilus. As part of the oral yeast infection cure, it
is sometimes recommended to keep a diary of diet. Analyze what
is being consumed and consider what might be
lacking.
Drugs used in Oral Yeast Infection
Cure
Fungicidal antibiotic, Nystatin is derived
from the Streptomycin Noursei organism. There are minimal
reactions to this and it will not harm bacteria or
viruses. It is usually employed at the very beginning of
the oral yeast infection and is available as a capsule. It
is rare for a yeast infection to become immune to
Nystatin. The brand names products are Nilstat®,
Mycostatin®, and Mycolog
II®.
Another oral yeast infection cure involves the use of the
Amphotericin B medicine. This does tend to cause a few
side-effects and is generally used in more advanced stages of
yeast infection/Candida. When in use, blood tests are advised
to monitor the state of the liver, which can be damaged.
Amphotericin B is available in balm form to be applied to the
corners of the mouth. The brand names are Apothecon®,
Fungizone®, and Adria®.
Ketoconazole creams (Mycelex®, Monistat®, and Nizoral®) are
effective at degrading the cell walls of the fungal
infection.
The fungicidal antibiotic, Candicidin (Candeptin®) is derived
from a slightly different strain of streptomycin than the
afore-mentioned Amphotericin B.
Triazoles (Diflucan® and Sporanox®) act in a similar way
to ketoconazole but are absorbed faster and tend to
produce less side-effects. Triazoles is, however, more
expensive.
More natural approaches to oral yeast infection
cure are extract of grapefruit seed, homeopathic
Candida silicea, capricin tea, Artemisia, grape seed oil, and
gentian. Fructo-oligosaccharide is also popular. It is an
indissoluble fiber, which acts like a nutrient source for
sanitary bifidus bacteria in the intestine. These bacteria sour
carbohydrates involved with fatty acids for for the
intestinal epithelial cells. This raises the soaking up
of water and minerals.
Close attention must be paid towards the diet as part of the
overall oral yeast infection cure. This is to prevent the
re-emergince of the yeast infection and keep a good balance of
bacteria, which can be affected by antibiotic drugs. Substances
to be avoided are alcohol, purified carbohydrates and sugar,
white flour. Care must be taken when it comes to fruit and milk
wherever there is a chance to encounter yeasts or molds, or
substances that have been soured or dried out. For oral yeast
infection cure, lacto bacillus acidophilus can be employed in
addition to the main treatment. It is cheap and facilitates a
much quicker and better recovery from the yeast
contagion.
