Yeast - Mouth
Oral Yeast Infection
Fungi, including Candida, are responsible for oral yeast mouth
infections. Also known as Thrush, the infection causes white
flecks to appear, which sometimes have red spots on them. Mucus
membrane coats in the mouth can be affected by these and they
may become irritated. The irritation of these white spots can
cause them to bleed.
Yeast is a Beneficial
Bacteria
All human bodies contain yeast. Good
bacteria in the digestive system usually keep the balance
of yeast under control. Helpful bacteria aids in making
the yeast in our bodies produce vitamins, such as vitamin
B. It is only when the balance of yeast is upset that it
is able to grow and mature into a fungus. The fungous
form, Candida, is known to bring out poisons into the body
known as mycotoxins. These poisons cause ailments and
attack and reduce the resistive system of the body. The
weakness of the resistive system is what allows the yeast
contagion to proliferate and cause oral yeast mouth
infection.
Another symptom of oral yeast infection to look out for is
a white coat on the tongue. This is usually accompanied by bad
breath. To check for this, simply examine your tongue using a
mirror. If there is a white surface, the probabilities are high
that an oral yeast infection is
present.
Test for Oral Yeast Infection
During sleep, an oral yeast infection is able to occupy the
oral cavity more easily than when awake and breathing through
the mouth. To test for an oral yeast infection, spit into
a glass of water first thing in the morning after you wake
up. Observe the water in the glass for the next fifteen
minutes. If the saliva simply fades and disperses, there is not
an oral yeast infection present. If Candida is present, the
spit will form strands or a web-like shape or sink to the
bottom. These signs are usually visible within five minutes.
The infection can spread to the throat, see Throat Yeast
Infection.
